Our Story
In the Spring of 2024, a group of active alumni met with Dr. Brian Taylor, UNC Charlotte's Associate Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands, to lay the groundwork for an alumni association. This association would connect alumni to the band through events such as Alumni Band Day and other side-by-side performance opportunities, as well as other various social events throughout the year.
With great passion, enthusiasm, and dedication, four alumni from different backgrounds and graduation years gathered at a local venue near the University while discussing the potential for this proposed organization: what to do and what could be done, specifically for monumental moments such as the 10th season of PNNMB in Fall of 2024.
As the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band grew, a clear need emerged: a way to connect alumni. Fueled by a desire to do something special for both current students and former members, the group decided to create an association. This formative committee began the process of establishing a social club, with the goal of regularly hosting exciting events to connect, celebrate, and support our community.
With great effort and determination, The Charlotte Alumni Marching Band Association (CAMBA) incorporated October 2, 2024. CAMBA aims to provide students and alumni with new insights and opportunities. Through collaboration, pride, and steadfast support, we look forward to connecting past and present members of the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band and other athletic bands for years to come.
